Assistant Swim Coach
Quick Apply Part-time 2 hours ago Full Job Description Horizon Swimming is seeking an enthusiastic coach to assist our our entry level swim team groups and pre-competitive program at our new location in Simi Valley.
This position comes with opportunity for additional hours in Thousand Oaks and has the potential for quite a bit of growth over the coming 6-12 months.
If you enjoy working with young children and have a passion for teaching/sharing/learning through swimming, we would love to meet you! Hours:
Monday through Thursday between 4:
00pm and 7:
00pm (possibly more).
Swim Meets:
Roughly once a month.
Hourly Wage:
Commensurate with candidate's qualification, and negotiable.
Qualifications:
Passionate about the sport of swimming Passionate about working with young children Passionate about teaching, sharing, and learning Ability to work with a group of up to 30 swimmers Ability to work with swimmers of different ages and ability levels Ability to follow directions and solve problems rationally and calmly in all situations Ability to communicate and build a strong healthy relationship with fellow coaches, athletes, and their parents Must obtain current USA-Swimming Coach Member and remain in good standing (we will pay for your certification) Competitive swimming background and teaching experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
Exemplify Horizon Swimming Core Values (Accountability, Discipline, Unity) Attend every practice and all swim meets of your assigned groups Create a safe, fun, and positive learning environment for all athletes Develop daily lesson plans following the Horizon Swimming curriculum Keep track of, and evaluate, group and individual development from practice and meets Build a strong healthy athlete-parent-coach relationship with all families Respond to athletes and parents' inquiry via email or in-person conversation Implement facility's operation, policies, and procedures Attend bi-weekly staff meetings (on zoom and in-person) Plan and participate in team building activities with your groups Never stop learning and developing as a coach Job Type:
