Job Designation The Head of Trade Compliance directs and controls and is accountable for Trade Compliance activities of a specified geographical region. They manage a team of Trade Compliance Managers and Trade Compliance Specialists across multiple sites, Product Groups and Divisions within their region. They ensure their teams are resourced and educated appropriately to support the needs of the business and is compliant with all territorial trade compliance laws and regulations. The Head of Trade Compliance will engage and collaborate with all leadership stake holders within their scope of responsibility to ensure the needs of the business are understood and met. Reports directly to Director Trade Compliance, matrix to Product Group President as appropriate. Job Core Responsibilities 1. Leadership o Is accountable and responsible for Trade Compliance service in their region o Provides subject matter expertise support and advice o Coaches, mentors and develops staff o Represents the function internally and externally o Aligns service to the needs of the business o Cast the right shadow and exhibits the company's core competences, values and behaviors 2. Managing o Directs and controls Trade Compliance activities of assigned area o Ensures staffing levels are appropriate to deliver the desired level of support o Aligns priorities with company BLUE CHIPS o Ensures staff are adequately trained in current laws and regulations o Builds strong effective teams 3. Collaboration o Works cross functionally to ensure departmental goals and objectives are aligned o Collaborates with senior leadership on vision, strategy and priorities o Stays Globally connected with the wider organization o Builds strong partnerships with other functions o Participates in the development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people. o Will interface with Regulators, Customers and vendors on matters of significant impact to the business. Bachelor's Degree Field of Study/Area of
Experience:
7-10 years of progressive experience in Trade Compliance including leadership and people management, including building teams. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities o Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others to meet team objectives o Thorough knowledge of trade compliance in all jurisdictions within scope of authority. o Strong diplomatic skills to manage diverse needs of various disciplines with competing priorities o Ability to manage and strategically integrate regulatory requirements into business processes to maximize outcomes o Ability to direct resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems while applying advanced analytical thought and judgment o Excellent verbal and written communication skills o Presentation skills o Ability to influence stakeholders o Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task o Strong prioritization skills o Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically o Supervisory skills, including delegation, training and evaluating performance o Team building, leadership, and management skills o Conflict management skills o Decision making skills o Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, web- browsers, and database management tools
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Auditing & ComplianceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
