Job Designation The Commercial Director leads the commercial management function within a business unit or a group of businesses. Responsible for all commercial management issues relating to a major/strategic account(s) or specific line(s) of business. Provides strategic direction and ensures commercial management policy and company policy are implemented within the business unit(s). Job Core Responsibilities Oversees the negotiating, structuring and management of contractual documents that establish business relationships with customers and/or partners Proactively manages the Commercial Management business teams; providing organizational advice, training, development and guidance Reviews and approves documents for alignment with the company's contractual agreements and adherence to company policy Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions Ensures that export compliance, data protection and other relevant regulations/ legislation are being followed - Actively supports the bid team response to RFI's or RFP's including obtaining necessary internal approvals - Drafts, reviews and negotiates commercial documents; providing leadership on very complex issues Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations Other responsibilities as assigned Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary Job Specifications Education:
Post-Secondary Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations Years
Experience:
10-15 years of relevant experience Skills:
Significant experience in managing multiple related teams, setting function priorities and allocating resources Able to anticipate internal or external business challenges/regulatory issues and make recommendations Experienced in developing and negotiating contractual agreements Must have managerial experience; demonstrated effective communication skills (written and verbal) to meet business objectives Experience in providing strategic leadership and developing comprehensive budgets Logical problem solving and strong numeric skills
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
ProcurementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
